Downgrading Nero12 Platinum

Category: How-to Guides

To completely downgrade the cool Nero12 Platinum, you need to complete the uninstall for the following items by default:

    • MSI 4.5 for Windows XP (x86) (Note It depends on which edition of Windows you had Nero 12 installed.)
    • Microsoft VC Redist 2010 SP1 (x86)
    • Direct3D HLSL Complier 9.29.952.3111
  • Direct3D 10.1 Extensions 9.29.952.3111 (d3dcsx)
  • Direct3D 10.1 Extensions 9.29.952.3111 (d3dx9)
  • Direct3D 10.1 Extensions 9.29.952.3111 (d3dx10)
  • Direct3D 10.1 Extensions 9.29.952.3111 (d3dx11)
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Client
  • AdobeFlash (Adobe Flash Player ActiveX)
  • Microsoft XML 4.0
  • Reboot Validator
  • AVG Security Toolbar (NOTE You then may need to reset your default web browser and its "Home page" setting.)

Now, I am going to show you how to complete the express uninstallation of Nero12 Platinum on WinXP SP3 computer:

    • Logged on to my computer via its system administrator, I save and close all my personal files. Then I also close the following "Welcome to Nero 12" window.

    • Click start and then Control Panel.
    • Click Add or Remove Programs entry in the next Control Panel window.
    • Then, I first locate the listing Nero 12 program in Currently installed programs and then, I click Remove button next to it.

    • Click Yes on Add or Remove Programs below to proceed my requested operation.

    • "Please wait while Windows configures Nero 12 / Nero Kwik Media/ other installed components".

    • Then I see the previously installed Nero 12 Platinum was removed from Add or Remove Programs.
    • After that, I think I can go on to remove other components of the uninstalled Nero 12 such as the Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX, Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile and Microsoft Visual C++ programs I've mentioned above.

NOTE Please follow the onscreen wizards to successfully remove all the potentially unwanted programs from your computer. For the MS .NET uninstall, you will be requested to have your system rebooted; and for another C++ programs remaining programs list, its uninstall procedure can be completed quickly and with ease - you'd better remove 2008 first and then launch option "Remove" for C++ 2010.

    • Now, I need to check my installed web browsers like Windows Internet Explorer 6 and Firefox Nightly. And I find that AVG Security Tool has been installed Nightly only. Thus, to fully remove the uninstalled Nero 12 suite and its recommendation, AVG toolbar, I manually remove the following URL "{37D51FA4-D0A8-46BC-9383-963F3ECF15EE}&mid=3c7f757cba7b47d3a2aad1456fda2062-1edb064abaccff4e42d35f7a25b4d7470b353831&lang=en&ds=nr013&pr=sa&d=&v=&pid=avg&sg=&sap=hp" from Nightly's Home Page section.

    • What's more, I detect the following program leftover items including addtional registry keys associated with the uninstalled programs such as Nero and AVG. Then I wanna manually delete them at my own risk. For more regular folks, you should use an uninstaller program to uninstall Nero instead.
